Thunder Road Dealership Blog

As April comes to an end - April turned out to be what we expected...another great month. This is because of you, our Harley-Davidson®  family.

We would like to thank all of our new riders that joined the family during the month of April. Please reach out and let's continue to nourish this relationship. We are here for you and always, "Happy to Help."

Our second annual, "Dyno Shootout," was a huge success and we raised quite a bit of money for, "The Pit Stops for Hope," children's charity (close to $1,000). Please take the time to visit their social page and website and consider becoming a patreon for them

May is slated to be a fun month with lots of events scheduled. Seeing the trend, joining our family just means allowing yourself more fun.

May 7th, Thunder Road Harley-Davidson, will be hosting the International Women's Riding Day. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and kickstands up at 10:00 a.m. We will be furnishing coffee and donuts for the participants.  It would be awesome to see a big turnout of local women come out for this event. If you know a new rider, or if you are a new rider, or perhaps, you want to explore the freedom of riding as a potential new rider, please stop in and speak with us and the riders. Our own powerhouse, Kimberly, will be available to answer any of your questions and address any of your concerns.

We deliver on our promises, so on May 28th, we have a scheduled ride between our two stores. Come join us as we take a scenic ride Crossroads Harley-Davidson® located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Wilkesboro, NC. Taking the scenic route, we will end up at Thunder Road H-D®(  our home). We estimate that we will arrive here in Danville around noon. Thunder Road will have a cook-out for the riders with kickstands back up at 2:00 p.m. to head back to Wilkesboro. Please stay tuned as we will be setting a date to do the same ride from Thunder Road HD to Crossroads HD later in the year. For our experienced riders, this is the chance to expand your circle and meet other family members. For our new riders, this is a chance to ride with a great group and log some beautiful, safe miles. We are very excited to offer this!

Our Service Department came off of another great month. Huge thanks to our customers! We appreciate each of you for bringing in your bikes to get them ready for riding season and of course, and for the big inch Motor builds that Thunder Road service techs specialize in. We completed a few just days before the Dyno Day Shootout event. I'm starting to wonder if the 131 motor is just going to become normal around here! Thunder Road added an additional technician to the shop by means of Colorado.  We are excited to have him join our team.  He previously worked with our Master Tech. Thunder Road is assembling quite the service team and word is out. We Know, We Speak, We Build Performance!

Our Motorclothes Department finally received the long anticipated that features new looks for today's riders. We also received a large shipment of new DOT helmets of every size, shape, and color to match your needs and comfort. Please remember to switch those helmets out every 5 years. It is the most important thing - it is protecting your head.  In May, we are offering 10% off on all helmets, when you trade in your old helmet. Our family wants you to enjoy riding often, but more importantly, riding safe.

The Parts Department is doing a great job trying to get all of the parts in and chasing all of these crazy backorders. As you can imagine, that is a full-time job in itself.  As I have shared before, we are concentrating on becoming direct with the manufacturers to try and eliminate as many back orders through suppliers as we can. During May, the Parts Department at Thunder Road will be offering 15% off on all hanldebars and accessories for those installed here in the service department. May is a good month to become comfortable before those long rides begin.

Ride safely,

JR - General Manager
